Hamza Onwuemenyi has left Enugu Rangers to rejoin Akwa United less than a year after moving to the Coal City side.
The 26-year-old central defender, who had a three-year spell with United from 2011 until 2014, has signed a one-year deal and has already joined the team's training camp at Ikot Abasi.
The move to Rangers was supposed to be a happy homecoming for Onwuemenyi, but he admits it did not work out as he had expected.
"I'm from Enugu and was thrilled to have joined Rangers, but things did not turn out as expected," Onwuemenyi told supersport.com.
"I moved there mid-season, but didn't get enough opportunities to play.
"Then there was pressure from my family and friends, and this affected my concentration.
"I had made up mind to move on and it was an easy decision for me when United showed interest.
"I have already moved to camp where we are preparing for our opening league match against Enyimba."
Onwuemenyi has also played for Heartland and Gabros International.
