Caf Confederation Cup: Aigbogun takes aim at Dedebit

Warri Wolves head coach Paul Aigbogun insists his side will be ready when they face Ethiopian club FC Dedebit in the first round of the 2015 Caf Confederation Cup.
Wolves set up the clash after outclassing Burkinabe side RC Bobo-Dioulasso 4-0 on aggregate in the preliminary round of the competition.
The Nigerians must now prevail over Dedebit over two legs if they are to reach the second round
but Aigbogun believes his charges will deliver.
“I always know we were going to play against the team from Ethiopia (FC Dedebit). We will start looking into that now,” Aigbogun told supersport.com.
Wolves’ vanquished opponents in the preliminary round, RC Bobo, surprisingly put up minimal resistance in the second leg but Aigbogun, who readily acknowledged that the first leg was a lot more complicated, identified the opening goal in Saturday’s 3-0 win, scored by Oghenekaro Etebo, as the turning point.
“The first game was a little bit harder obviously. They were playing at their own place and tried very hard to win.
“After we scored the first goal (in the second leg), it got them down a little bit. I think (the ease of our victory on Saturday) was down to the first goal we scored,” he said.
Wolves reached the second round of the competition last year before they were stopped by Tunisian club CA Bizertin over two legs.
Aigbogun hopes mistakes of the past will be corrected this time as he expects Wolves to preform creditably this year.
“Any competition that you go into, you want to do as well as you can. That’s what we are aiming for,” he said.
Wolves have never gone beyond the second round in Caf club competitions.
