Nigeria LMC partners Radio Stations ahead of NPFL season opener on January 14


The League Management Company (LMC) has signed a partnership agreement with three radio stations to improve the media coverage of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The stations are Unity FM of Jos, Platinum FM Abuja and Nassarawa and Arewa FM in Kano.
LMC chairman Shehu Dikko said the league is partnering some of the leading radio stations in the country to promote and improve wider coverage of the league.

The stage is now set for the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season to kick start. The draw for the new season was held two days ago in Lagos. This apparently happened on Wednesday 27th 2016, during the Nigeria Federation cup quarterfinal game between two NPFL clubs FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Warri Wolves FC which was played at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Giwa FC misses third match of the season as LMC fails to implement punishment



The LMC via their Twitter handle posted this...but I strongly believe its just not enough and three points and three goals must be awarded to Enyimba FC and every other teams they failed to appear for a match.

Missing the match against Enyimba FC this Wednesday 18th May, 2016 is the third time this season that Giwa FC have failed to appear for their home match in this current NPFL season and surprisingly the League Management Company has failed to act (or better still reluctant to act). Giwa Fc was suspended for three matches from playing in Jos and was banished to play in Kwara State.

The NPFL rule says that if a club fails to appear for a league match for three times then they will be expelled and banished from the League.

Abia Warriors pips Giwa FC 1-0 to go top of Nigeria Professional Football League table


A 38th minute goal by Uche Ihuarulam was enough to hand host Abia Warriors of Umuahia 1-0 win over returning League rebels Giwa Fc of Jos on Saturday 7th May 2016.

With the win, Abia Warriors who have only lost one game in 14 matches so far and thus temporarily tops the league table with 27 points (the same with Rangers FC of Enugu).
