The stage is now set for the 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League season to kick start. The draw for the new season was held two days ago in Lagos. MFM FC was drawn to play Niger Tornadoes in their first game of the new season which is their 2nd appearance in the Nigeria most prestigious first division league.
Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men were runner-up of the 4th edition of Nigeria’s most prestigious pre-season event, the Gold Cup, held in Ogun State after they lost the final to Lobi Stars 4-3 on penalties.
They maintained their fine form and emerged as the second-place
finisher at the four-team South West pres-season tourney in Lagos where they
beat off competition from Shooting Stars and newly promoted NPFL side, Remo
Stars.
