NPFL Week 36: Enyimba edges closer to 7th League title with an away win as Warri Wolves keeps in touch with 4-0 hammering of Bayelsa Utd

Enyimba came out victorious in the eastern derby match titled "Abia Classico" against local rivals Abia Warriors thanks to a solitary effort from last year's league record highest goal
scorer, Mfon Udoh who came on as a substitute.
The people's Elephant now have the league title in their own hands as they need only two points to be crowned league champions for the seventh time in their history. Leading Warri Wolves with five points at 68 points with just only two games remaining and a total of 48 goals scored.
Salami joins top goalscorer chart

Warri Wolves thrashed neighbours Bayelsa united 4-0 to further condemn them to the relegation zone as two goals from Etebor Oghenekaro, one from Joseph Osadiaye and also a goal from Gbolahan Salami (which took him joint leading goal scorer with Nasarawa United's Esosa Igbinoba at 15 goals)

A first half penalty scored by Ibrahim Mustapha was enough for El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri to pip defending champions Kano Pillars 1-0 dashing their hopes of any continental football. Kano Pillars are still on 8th position on the log with 52 points as eight points separating them from Giwa FC at 4th position with 60 points.

Enugu Rangers were held to a 2-2 draw by visiting Akwa United at home. Left back Chinedu Udeagha got the two goals for Rangers while Aniekpono Udo and a brilliant free kick from Nnamso Edo denied the Enugu-based club all three points. 
Bright Ejike broke goal jinx

Bright Ejike ended his goal drought as he got on the score sheet in the 9th minute as his club Heartland FC of Owerri beat stubborn Giwa FC of Jos 3-2.
