Former Nigeria Super Eagles Captain and Juventus player, Sunday Oliseh is set to be announced as the new coach of the Super Eagles and is expected to sign a five year contract with the NFF.
The 40-year-old former midfielder, who captained Nigeria and won 63 caps, is set to be
appointed in the coming days.
He would take over from NFF technical director Shaibu Amodu and assistant coach Salisu Yusuf, who are are currently in charge of the Super Eagles team on an interim basis.
The Nigeria midfielder is very popular and famously remembered by his thunderbolt goal he scored from 35-yards out in 3-2 win against Spain in the 1998 World Cup finals in France.
During his days as a footballer, he played for European top clubs like Ajax of Holland, Juventus of Italy and Borussia Dortmund of Germany.
In January 2006, at the age of 31, Oliseh retired from professional football after playing a half season for Belgian top club KRC Genk
As a coach, Oliseh has little management experience, having coached only Belgian lower league side Vervietois between 2008 and 2009, but he does hold the UEFA Pro Licence.
