Weekend Review: Eagles' Watch, Obafemi scores brace as Rabiu Ibrahim wins Slovakian Cup


A quick review of the performances of our dearest super Eagles player who play football abroad across different continent. It was an averagely good performances for Eagles
players across the globe.

Obafemi Martins
Former Super Eagles star, Obafemi Martins, on Sunday night (Monday morning, Nigerian time) scored twice as the Seattle Sounders beat New York City FC 3-1 in the MLS.

Rabiu Ibrahim
Ex-Nigeria youth international Rabiu Ibrahim has written his name in gold as he scored to secure a 3-2 win over FK Senica to clinch an historic Slovakia Cup with AS Trencin.


Mikel Obi: He was in action for the entire second half for Chelsea as they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 to win the EPL title. He replaced Juan Cuardado.

Aaron Samuel: He was not listed for Guangzhou R&F as they drew goalless at home to Liaoning Hongyin. He is still not back from a shoulder injury.

 Efe Ambrose: The defender was in action for 65 minutes for Celtic as they thrashed Dundee 5-0. He was replaced in the 65th minute by Darnel Fisher.

Akeem Latifu: The right back was in action for the entire duration for Aalesund in a 2-0 win over Bodo/Glimt. He compatriot Leke James scored one of the goals.

Odion Ighalo: The international striker was a 78th minute substitute for Watford as they drew 1-1 to Sheffield Wednesday. He replaced Matej Vydra.

 Hope Akpan: He was not listed for English Championship side Reading as they thrashed hosts Derby County 3-0.

 Kenneth Omeruo: The defender was an unused substitute for Middlesbrough as they drew goalless to Brighton and Hove Albion.

 Leon Balogun: The right back was in action for the entire duration for his German second division club Darmstadt in a 3-2 win over Kaiserslauten.

 Osaze Odemwingie: The fit-again striker was in action for nine minutes as Stoke City lost 2-0 at Swansea City.

Nnamdi Oduamadi: He was in action for Latina as they beat hosts Varese 2-1.

Anthony Ujah: The striker was in action for 56th minutes for Cologne as they drew goalless at Ausburg. He was replaced by Mergim Mavraj.

Raheem Lawal: The midfielder was in action from start to finish for Eskisehirspor as they drew 1-1 at Istanbul BB. He was cautioned by the referee in the 69th minute.

 Emmanuel Emenike: The striker was in action for 44 minutes as Fenerbahce beat Balikesirspor 4-3. Emenike was a 46th minute sub for Dirk Kuyt. His compatriot, Isaac Promise scored for Balikesirspor.

Brown Ideye: He was in action for 10 minutes as West Brom beat hosts Manchester United. He replaced Saido Berahino in the 80th minute.

Godfrey Oboabona: The defender was in action from start to finish for Rizespor as Karabukspor won 2-0.

 Ogenyi Onazi: The energetic midfielder was an unused substitute for Lazio in a 1-1 draw at Atalanta.

Vincent Enyeama: The Eagles captain was in goal for Lille as they won 3-1 against Lens.

 John Ogu: He was in action for the entire duration as Hapoel Be'er Sheva won 2-1 at Maccabi Petach Tikva.

 Austin Ejide: The goalkeeper manned the post for Hapoel Be'er Sheva as they beat Maccabi Petach Tikva 2-1.

Moses Simon: The forward soon bound for the U20 World Cup in New Zealand was a 69th minute substitute for Gent as they won 1-0 at Kortrijk. He replaced Nicklas Pedersen.
