NFF commences work on burnt secretariat

There are indications that the Nigeria Football Federation may remain at the Glass House situated at the Olu Obasanjo way, Abuja instead of moving to the FIFA Goal site situated at the Package B of the National Stadium, Abuja.
The NFF General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi has promised on assuming powers that his
priority is moving to the FIFA Goal site as soon as possible. But signs became noticeable as rehabilitation works has commenced on the offices which got burnt last year with contractors putting the damaged areas into shape. When New Telegraph called at the office of the Secretary General, to speak on the development he was said to have gone to the sports ministry.
But some of the staff who spoke on the matter on condition of anonymity said the NFF would prefer to remain at the present location because of its proximity to the centre of the city. They also raised the issue of security which might be a problem if the NFF moves to the Goal Project site which could deserted and dangerous.
“The Sunday Dankaro House is at the end of the Package B and very close to the Express with only barbed wire demarcating it from the Highway,” our source said. He said besides this, the NFF officials may have to be cut off from the usual bubbling life of the city and perhaps denied easy access to Business centres where most of their works are done.
