Liverpool Lead Spurs In The Race To Sign Moses Simon

Liverpool are reportedly desperate to beat a host of clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Fenerbache in the race to sign Gent 19-year-old Nigerian international Moses Simon.
The Daily Express which ran the news reckoned the Nigerian is a part of manager Brendan Rodgers summer plans that also include a raid for Aston Villa Christian Benteke, Danny
Ings of Burnley and Memphis Depay of PSV.

However according to reports in Turkey they face competition for the services of the 19-year-old who has been capped twice at senior level by Nigeria from the likes of Fenerbache and Tottenham Hotspur but presently the youngster is rumoured to be close to Liverpool than the aforementioned duo.
Meanwhile, any team willing to snap Simon off the hands of Gent must be ready to pay a pricey sum of 20 million Euros according to Gent technical director Michael Louwagie.

"€20m is not unfounded. In recent years, prices have risen in Belgium, and I think €20 million is a realistic price for Moses Simon, who is only 19,"  he told Het Nieuwsblad.
"Our position is clear: we want him [Simon] to stays with us next season. However, if he continues his progression, Gent will not be able to keep him for very long."

Moses said, back in March when asked about his immediate future, that he is happy in Gent and progressing well.

"My talent in front of goal comes from God. I am very happy to have come here. Gent is a very good club for me and I'm happy to play in Belgium"
With 38 goals/assists in 52 games this year for AS Trencin in Slovakia and Gent it is expected he won't stay long in the Belgium league.
