Presidency Turns Back On Keshi

Angry with Big Boss over media castigation of his employers

Stephen Keshi’s hopes of retaining the Super Eagles coaching job may have suffered a severe setback following revelations that some powerful forces within the Presidency are now turning their backs on the former Nigeria captain over his reported media castigation of the Nigeria Football Federation.

Findings from the Sports Ministry indicate that officials of the NFF had stormed the Presidency with newspaper copies where Keshi reportedly criticised the NFF and called the NFF president, the man who is expected to be his boss a liar.

“The Presidency was not happy and even said it was not proper for one to make such statements against his employers or intending employers,” Sports Ministry sources told Complete Sports on Monday.

“They also said NFF should be at liberty to refuse to give him the Super Eagles coaching job.”

Keshi’s initial three-year contract with the NFF ended with last year’s World Cup finals inBrazil, even though the former Togo and Mali national teams handler has been in a running battle with NFF for contract renewal.
