Nigeria’s only remaining team in continental club competition, Warri Wolves FC showed tremendous guts and grit to overcome FCMK of Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in Kinshasa on Friday and
qualify for the third round of the competition on 3-1 aggregate.
Millions of ardent followers of African football had given Wolves no chance after they could only win the first leg 2-1, but a commendable performance at the dreaded Stade Tata Raphael was crowned by a 65th minute goal by U-23 National Team ace Etebo Oghenekaro.
The victorious Nigerian side will now play a losing side from the CAF Champions League to reach the group phase of the CAF Confederation Cup.
