National U-23 Eagles coach Samson Siasia is expected to announce the names of foreign based players that will be part of the team against Zambia today, according to a reliable source in the team’s Abuja camp.
The team will be facing Zambia on April 11 in Lusaka in the return leg match of the 2015 All Africa Games qualifier having played a goalless draw at the Abuja National Stadium last
week.
The Nigerians need to win the crucial match if the country must feature in the football event of the All Africa Games and in ensuring they win the away match, Coach Samson Siasia has invited five players from the victorious Flying Eagles squad to beef up the team while few more players are expected to join up from the foreign scene.
“The coach is only considering few numbers of foreign based players for the match following the invitation of the five players invited from the Flying Eagles. The players he is inviting from the foreign clubs are not different from those that have been part of the team from the start but they are not going to be many anyway,” the source says.
Complete Sports regular checks in the team’s Abuja camp also revealed that the players released for continental assignment are yet to return while the Coach has given them up till next Monday to return to camp.
According to a source in team, the players will jet out of the country on April 9 for the crucial second leg match qualifier.
