Supersand Eagles’ Head Coach, Audu Adamu Ejo has released his list of 12 players that will wear Nigeria’s colours at the African Beach Soccer Championship taking place in the Indian Ocean island of Seychelles, April 14-19.
Team captain Isiaka Olawale tops the roster, with veterans Bartholomew Ibenegbu and
Victor Tale also included.
Oladipo Olalekan, Festus Ehibhi, Emeka Ogbonna, Jamal Akewusola, Lokosa Junior, Emmanuel Ohweferi, Adams Taiwo and Igudia Godspower complete the list.
Nigeria play in Group A alongside host Seychelles, Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire, with matches set for the Roche Caiman Sports Complex in Victoria.
The Supersand Eagles’ first game is against the host nation, on Tuesday, with other group matches against Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire to follow. The tournament also serves as the qualifying competition for this year’s FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, scheduled for Portugal in July.
Only the two finalists will qualify to represent Africa in Portugal.
The Nigeria delegation will depart Nigeria on Friday for Seychelles, aboard a Kenyan Airways flight, to transit in Nairobi.
