Chinedu Obasi is now likely to try his luck in Turkey after German Bundesliga Schalke 04 announced they will not renew his contract by the summer.A source close to the Nigeria international said: “Chinedu is exploring the possibilities of now moving to Turkey after Schalke said he is surplus to
requirements.“This is not just because of the football but also for the player to make some good cash as Turkey is virtually tax-free unlike Germany, where a huge chunk of your money is taken by the tax man.”
The 28-year-old Ogbuke first joined Schalke on loan from Hoffenheim, before he made the switch permanent the following season.
Long-term injuries have slowed down his progress at the top German club.This season, he has only made a mere six appearances in the league and has yet to score for Schalke.
