NPFL Refs suspended for the rest of season

Nigeria Professional Football League [NPFL] referees, John Charles and Ogunta Matador, have been suspended for the rest of the season by the NFF.
The decision was taken by the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] Referees Committee on Monday after reviewing the performance of the referees.
Chairman of the NFF committee, Yusuf Ahmed Fresh explained that the two officials have been
suspended for “gross misconduct and performance below the required standard.”
The League Management Company [LMC] chairman, Shehu Dikko, also re-echoed the same line as Ahmed stating that the performance of the referees is considered unacceptable.
"John Charles and Ogunta Matador that officiated Dolphins FC and Sunshine Stars FC suspended for the rest of the season from NPFL matches. This is as a result of their poor and below standard performance in the match that the LMC and the NFF Referees Committee consider not acceptable," Dikko said.
Charles and Matador were the centre referee and second assistant referee of the NPFL match between Sunshine Stars and Dolphins which the former won 2-1 through a controversial second goal by Prince Aggreh.
