NPFL: HEARTLAND beat Table Leaders TARABA FC

Heartland have taken over the leadership of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) from FC Taraba following a 3-1 win over hosts Kwara United at Ilorin. Heartland now top the league with nine points from three games.

Ahmed Jimoh gave the hosts the lead in the ninth minute after he finished off a rebound from an
initial save by Heartland goalkeeper David Obiozor.
The visitors restored parity when Mohammed Mohammed struck three minutes after Kwara United's goal.
An early substitute Jimoh Oni, who replaced injured Mohammed Mohammed, scored Heartland second goal in the 21st minute.
Former Nigeria youth international Bright Ejike nodded in a cross from the right wing after a counter attack in the 29th minute to extend ‘The Naze Millionaires’ lead to 3-1.
Jimoh Oni then missed from close range, before Ismaila Shagari denied Heartland a fourth goal with a fine save.
