John Obi Mikel's intermediary has reacted to speculations linking the
Chelsea midfielder with a transfer to European champions Real Madrid in
the summer transfer market.
Rumours at home and abroad claim the Nigeria international could be
heading to the Santiago Bernabéu as replacement for Sami Khedira, who is
set to bring down the curtain on his career with Los Blancos in the
next two months.
When asked to confirm the stories, John Shittu refused to deny or
confirm the reports, saying that his client still has a valid contract
with Chelsea.
''I can't talk about anything regarding the reports linking him (Mikel )
with Real Madrid because he is still a Chelsea player,'' John Shittu
said.
Obi Mikel had drawn interest from
Schalke 04 few months before the opening of the winter transfer market,
only for the deal to collapse after coach Jose Mourinho gave him more
game time.
It can also be revealed by this website that ex Sweden icon Martin
Dahlin offered the Super Eagles star to Monaco in 2013 but the transfer
did not materialize.
John Obi Mikel is tied to the English Premier League champions-in-waiting until the summer of 2017.
