Heartland have set their sights on reclaiming the top spot on the Nigeria league when they host Kano Pillars in a rescheduled Week 1 game on Thursday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
‘The Naze Millionaires’ are seventh on the league table with nine points from five matches, same as the visitors Kano Pillars, who are eighth on the table. A victory for Heartland will take them to 12 points to topple Giwa, who are leading with 11 points.
Heartland goalkeeper Ebele Obi said they are battle ready to beat Pillars and return to the top spot.
"We are in good form despite losing our last game to Warri wolves 2-0 in Warri. I know it is going to be a tough match, but I am very sure we are going to win because we want to go back to the top of the league. I believe in our coaches and my colleagues, we will do a good job," said the older brother of Chelsea star Mikel.
