Crystal Palace, Leicester chase Ujah

Crystal Palace and Leicester City are amongst a number of clubs interested in signing Cologne’s 24-year-old striker Anthony Ujah this summer. Standing at a little over six feet tall, the Nigeria international has scored 10 goals in 28 league appearances for the German outfit after signing for them on a permanent basis in the summer of 2013.
Prior to that, the front man had spent two years at Mainz, but has flourished this term, and
has subsequently attracted a fair bit of attention from further afield. Whether or not Alan Pardew would want to take a gamble on a striker who is completely unproven outside of the Bundesliga or Norway, having started his career with Lillestrøm remains a subject of some debate, but there may well be a belief from those scouting Ujah that he has what it takes to succeed in the English game.

Should Palace be serious about making a move for him, Pardew and co. may well encounter one or two problems in obtaining a work permit, given the sporadic nature of his appearances for Nigeria over the last two years, but now, it remains the stuff of pure speculation.
