The management of Enugu Rangers Football Club has demanded Moroccan club Raja Casablanca to pay the outstanding fee relating to the transfer of its former player, Ighodaro Osaguona, or risk being dragged before the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA).
Rangers claimed that Raja has failed to honour the agreement between both clubs when the
Flying Antelopes’ forward moved to Morocco.
Ighodaro, who made his debut for Nigeria in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against South Africa, has been in fine form for Raja, scoring in all the five matches he has played in the CAF Champions League, the latest being a brace against South African side Orlando Pirates. He may, however, have to return to his old club if the issue between his parent club and his current side degenrates beyond this point, according to Rangers’ media manager, Foster Chime.
“Raja Casablanca hasn’t paid us anything yet, in spite of the agreement we reached late last year. They told us that they will clear the deal within three months and the agreement has elapsed since March 2015,” Foster said.
According to Chime, the Enugu-based club has written the management of Raja thrice and both the Moroccan FA and CAF were copied.
“So far, they’ve chosen not to reply. We’ve given them till next week, after which we shall be compelled to alert FIFA about this development.
