Ethiopia 2105: Okpara wants high jump gold as compensation after winning first Nigeria Medal

After losing the boys long jump final, Thaddeus Okpara has said his target now will be to win the gold in the high jump.
Okpara won Nigeria first medal at the ongoing African Junior Athletics Championship in
Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and has now set his target on the high jump coming up on Sunday.
Speaking with New Telegraph, Okpara said the cold affected his performance towards the last two jumps.
“I believe I would have won the gold only for the Moroccan guy to jump 7.45m to beat me, but I am not going to take anything for granted in the high jump on Sunday,” he said.

Okpara leapt 7.44m in his first jump to lead the race until the Moroccan Mohcine Khoua jumped 7.45 to win the gold.
