After Dubai Championship heroics, Babalola targets more honours

Nigerian para-athlete Hannah Babalola has her sights set on winning more medals internationally after she posted an impressive outing at the just-concluded 2015 Fazza International Athletics- IPC Grand Prix
Babalola won two gold medals in the 100m and 200m T54 category and two silver medals in the
400m and 800m, at the season opening event, which had a record 490 athletes from 48 countries competing for honours.
The event is organised jointly by the Dubai Club for the Disabled and the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
It serves as a qualification event for the IPC World Championships, which will be held in Doha, Qatar in the middle of the year, and the Paralympic Games  in Brazil in 2016.
Babalola said, “The championships was world-class but I was able to prove myself because of the one month training camp I had in the US late last year.
“My focus is on how to win more medals internationally and prepare for the events in Qatar and Switzerland later in the year.”
She thanked Nollywood star Desmond Elliot, St. Ivo Kermartin and Education Foundation, Tochukwu Aghadinunoh and Walter Ambani for their financial and moral support ahead of the Dubai event.
