In the wake of reports that Stephen Keshi has been shortlisted for the Burkina Faso job, it has now emerged that the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) have lined up a two-year deal to convince him to stay.
According to The Punch, the Technical Committee of the NFF recommended the length of the proposed deal for Keshi to be two years.
The technical Committee last week suggested that Keshi's contract be extended, but the NFF executives are yet to act on it.
“What we have now is a proposal as the board can approve or change our decisions especially as it concerns the length of the contract and the conditions to meet before he can get an extension,” a board member of the NFF told the paper.
“A lot of things were taken into consideration in reaching those decisions but we are just a group in the entire body and it is now left for the entire federation board to consider and approve.”
Keshi was this week named by the Burkina Faso Football Federation alongside Milovan Rajevac and Gernot Rhor, in the final three-man shortlist considered to replace Paul Put as their coach.
The NFF executives this week travelled to Zurich for a meeting with FIFA president Sepp Blatter. It is now left to be seen what actions they will take on the coaching situation of the Super Eagles when they arrive
