The government of Jigawa State will roll out the red carpet on on Sunday to honour its illustrious son and President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Habu Gumel.
This recognition which holds at the NYSC Camp, will be bestowed on Gumel by the state governor, Sule Lamido, as a result of the giant strides that Gumel has made in sports administration, as well as engineering, in Nigeria.
According to a statement from Dutse, a dinner will also be held in honour of Gumel, who is also an executive member of the International Olympic Committee.
Since coming back as President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee after a keenly-contested election in Asaba, Delta State, where he beat former president Sani Ndanusa, Gumel has received congratulatory messages from international sporting bodies as well as stakeholders in Nigeria.
