Manu invites nine pros for training camp

Manu invites nine pros for training camp
Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 team, Manu Garba, has called up nine overseas-based players, as well as 21 Nigerian-based ones for a training camp in Kaduna.
The training camp gets underway on Saturday. This followed a screening exercise earlier this month, which also took place in Kaduna. The overseas-based players include Manchester City’s duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidiebere Nwakali, Granada CF’s Isaac Success, as well as Kalmar FF’s Taiwo Awoniyi. The Flying Eagles have been drawn in a tough Group A of the 2015 African Youth Championship along with hosts Senegal, Congo and Cote d’Ivoire.

They open their AYC campaign on March 8 against Senegal in Dakar before battling Congo on March 11, and Cote d’Ivoire on March 14. The top four teams at the end of the AYC will qualify for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup taking place in New Zealand.
