Despite all the promotional means used on social media to attract fans to come to the stadium and cheer up their players, Newly promoted NPFL Remo Stars still lost 2-1 to visiting Plateau United FC in their first game of the 2016/2017 season at the Gateway Stadium, Sagamu in Ogun State. Victor Mbaoma got the only goal for Remo Stars Fc in the 42 mins just before the half-time.
