Golden Eaglets of Nigeria defeated fellow West African, Mali 2-0 in the FIFA U-17 World Cup final in the Vina Del mar Stadium Chile. Though captain Nwakali missed a spot kick in
the first half, the Nigeria lads came out stronger in the second half after a scintillating display and got two goals from tournament's highest goalscorer Victor Osimhen and Funsho Bamgboye.
The victory means Nigeria retains the cup they won in UAE two years ago and holds the record of winning the tournament five times.

Kelechi Nwakali received the Golden ball award for the best palyer of the tournament while Victor Osimhen received the Golden Boot award. Malian goalkeeper was given the award for the Golden Glove as the best Goalkeeper of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Nigeria maintains their perfect record of never loosing to an African opposition in a FIFA U-17 WC finals.
To add to the milestone, Victor Osimhen broke the record for most goals scored in single tournament of a FIFA U-17 World Cup Final. His 10 goals put him ahead of Florent Sinama Pongolle of France (9)and Souleymane of Cote d'Ivoire.
