Jos based NPFL club Giwa FC players has been attacked by armed robbers on the night of Monday, August 3 on their way to a league game against Abia warriors . According to Sammy Adesoji, an official of the club, the robbery happened at around 10 pm around
Umuahia in Abia State.
This is the second NPFL club that have been attacked by robbers on their way to a league game after Kano Pillars' team bus were also attacked in the beginning of the season. Fortunately no Giwa FC players and staff were however was injured and no life was lost during the attack.
This is very sad news and a setback especially as the NPFL and LMC board is now making a huge, positive progress
