JOHN OBUH gets Gabros Appointment

Former Nigeria U20 coach John Obuh has been appointed by premier league side Gabros to supervise their campaign in the top flight.Last season, Obuh was in charge of Enugu Rangers, but his
contract was not renewed. Another national team coach, Fanny Amun, and ex-international Waidi Akanni have also been saddled with responsibilities by the Nnewi club. Amun is the general overseer of the club with Akanni acting as consultant to the club. A very close aide of new owner Ifeanyi Ubah said these appointments were to ensure Gabros play international football next year.

Bulgarian coach Mitko Dobrev will remain the technical adviser of the club with Willy Udube as chief coach and Kingsley Obiekwu as assistant coach.

Our source said, “This new development is targeted at actualising the dreams of the financier of Gabros which is to play continental football next season.

“These men are men of quality and it is the hoped that they bring their experience to bear in lifting the club to a higher level. I don’t see this causing any set back to the team as everybody is well acquainted with his duties. It is a new dawn for club football in the country.”

Gabros are currently second on the table with 13 points from seven matches behind table topping, Giwa FC and are angling to cause more upsets in the league after they returned to the top flight from the lower division, where they had spent nearly a decade.
