STATE FEDERATION FINALS: Ambassadors, COD Ladies rule in Lagos (see results)

Teenage side Nath Boys FC was the fans’ favourite, but the giant-killers eventually lost in the final as Christ Ambassadors FC became the new kings of Lagos.
At the finale of this year’s Winners Golden Bet/Lagos FA men and women Cup competitions at the
Agege Stadium on Monday, expectations were high that Nath Boys FC, with players of the average age of 17 years, would spring a final surprise, after barnstorming all the way, leaving much more fancied opponents in their wake.
The club accounted for Nigeria National League side, First Bank FC, in the semi finals, and the youthful players were a delight to watch with their captivating skills. But they lost 1-2 to Christ Ambassadors FC.
In the women’s finale, COD United Ladies exacted revenge for their defeat in last year’s final by FC Robo, beating the Premier League side 3-1 to become the new women champions of Lagos State.
In other results, Caliphate Warriors defeated AA Stars 2-0 to emerge champions in Sokoto, Gateway FC was stunned on penalties by Remo Stars in Ogun and Heartland FC won 2-0 against Pilo FC in Imo State.
