NFF set to confirm Keshi as Super Eagles coach

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), is set to announce Stephen Keshi, as the coach of the Super Eagles.
NFF president, Amaju Pinnick and the general secretary, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, are set to return to the country from the CAF Congress this week and will then make an official announcement.
With Nigeria already grouped with Egypt, Tanzania and Chad in the qualifying series for the
2017 Africa Cup of Nations, the NFF are keen to confirm the team’s handler, so preparations can commence immediately.
A very close source to the NFF boss told Goal recently in Abuja that “the issue of who coaches the Super Eagles has long been decided. It is Stephen Keshi and nobody else has been courted. The only thing delaying the official naming of the coach is to do a proper contract and to iron out areas that could cause future crisis between the NFF and Keshi.
“There have been hostilities between the former NFF Board President and Keshi in the past which the present Board is seriously guiding against a re-occurrence. That is why Keshi has to know the dos and don’ts on ground before finally sealing the deal. He needs to know his boundaries so that the two parties know what is expected from each other and thus avoid unnecessary friction in the line of duty.
“All things being equal, I expect the President of the NFF to name Stephen Keshi officially as the chief coach of the Super Eagles when he and his GS (Mohammed) return from Cairo.”
