Flying Eagles captain, Musa Mohammed, who reportedly absconded from the camp of the Nigeria Under-23 team, is currently training with the national U-20 team ahead of the FIFA U-20 World Cup slated to take place in New Zealand in July.
Musa has come under intense criticism after he reportedly left the camp of the
U-23 team who were preparing for the second leg of the All Africa Games qualifier against Zambia without the approval of the coach of the team, Samson Siasia.Initial reports suggested that the 2015 CAF U-20 Championship top scorer travelled to Germany for trials but according to SL10.ng, the player did not leave the country as reported. The football website quoted Flying Eagles team sources that although the player had denied leaving the country for trials abroad; officials are still in doubt of the claims.
Also, the Nigeria Football federation has said it will punish the player but the defender is one of early birds to the Flying Eagles camp. Linked with several European teams, the FC Hart full back will reportedly make a move after the World Cup after he failed to secure visa to travel to where he was supposed to sign a pre contract. Besiktas of Turkey have been named the favourites to land the defender but latest reports indicated that teams from the German Bundesliga and Red Bull Salzburg of Austria are also keen on his services.
