22 year old Nigerian forward Jerry Mbakogu has committed his immediate future to Italian side Carpi who will play in Serie A next season.
The scorer of 14 goals this season has been heavily linked with a move away from
Carpi with reports linking him to German giant Borrussia Dortmund and a host of Serie A teams.
Mbakogu has, however, shut down those rumours by revealing his eagerness to stay with Carpi and play in the Serie A next season.
"It's an immense joy to be promoted now we have to celebrate, it's a group success not an individual," he told Sportitalia.
"My future is still with Carpi, I have four more years on my contract, I have to stay here as am doing well".
Yet to be called up by Nigeria at any level, the Lagos born forward will be eligible to play for Italy by the end of this year after spending 5 years in the country.
However, he has choose to represent Nigeria.
