Nigeria striker Osaze Odemwingie is poised to return to match action within the next fortnight, Stoke City's assistant manager Mark Bowen has revealed.
The former Lille forward resumed full training last week after a seven-month lay-off due to a
knee ligament injury sustained in Stoke city's 1-0 win over Manchester City in August 2014.
Odemwingie has been pencilled down for a return to competitive action with the U21 squad against Wolves at the Britannia Stadium on Monday week.
"Peter is looking sharper day by day and we're monitoring his progress. We had thought about playing him in the Under-21s against Reading on Monday but we thought that might be a touch too soon,” Bowen told the club's website.
"He will stay with the group for the rest of this week and next week with a view to playing against Wolves the following Monday.
"If he comes out of that fine, which we think and hope he will, he'll be looking to get involved with the senior squad for the game the following week."
