Head coach of Taraba Queens, Adewale Olatunji has saluted the performance of his wards even though they were forced to a 1-1 draw by Home Base FC in a friendly duel played in Jalingo.
The Queens used the encounter to intensified their preparation for the 2015 Women Premier
League season, but they met a no-nonsense foes who showed the Queens no respect in the tie.
Home Base FC should have opened scoring in the 25th minute, but the Jalingo Babes would have their goalkeeper, Juliana to thank as she was at full stretch and saved her team.
The first half however failed to produce any goal, but they fans were really entertained as the two teams mesmerized themselves.
The Queens then came out smoking in the second half, and they were rewarded with a superb goal by Lola Abiodun who opened scoring in the 69th minute.
But the Queens' moment of celebration only lasted for ten minutes as their opponents levelled up and the match ended in a 1-1 draw at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo.
“The result was not a bad one for my girls, because we are still preparing for the new season, and I was satisfied with their performance,” the Queens' gaffer, Adewale Olatunji said.
Meanwhile, Taraba Queens' spokesman, Abidoye Babatunde disclosed that the friendly match was the first high profile match to be watched in recent times by the supporters and fans of Taraba Queens at the training pitch of Jolly Nyame Stadium as the game afforded them the opportunity to see their darling team live in jalingo.
