Wikki achieved at NNL Super Four

Wikki Tourists head coach, Abdul Maikaba has said his side achieved their aim at the just concluded Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Four tournament in llorin.
The Bauchi-based side lost both matches at the three-day football showpiece to eventual winners, Gabros FC and hosts, Kwara United.
Maikaba said it will be erroneous and outright misrepresentation to measure the side’s strength
strictly on the outcome of the annual football event.
“We used the NNL Super Four tournament to solve major problems prior to the kick-off of the elite league.
“We’re 100% satisfied that we saw our problems well ahead of time and we’re immediately going to work hard to correct the mistakes.
“We played good football, created several chances but finishing was our greatest undoing at the tournament.
“Even at that we’re still declared the best team of the tournament by the unbiased assessors.
“The Super Four outing will turn out to be a blessing in disguise as we won’t have known our problems if we won our matches.
“Kano Pillars have often finished poorly in most Super Four tournament but still went ahead to win the league shield, I see same thing happening to us in the upcoming league season.
“We’re happy with what we achieved at the Super Four as well as prepared for the coming season.
“So I plead passionately that people shouldn’t use the Super Four performance to assess or judge us.
“We actually prepared very well for the Super Four only that luck was against us but we’re happy we now know our errors,” said the former Enyimba coach to supersport.com.
Wikki will kick-off their top flight campaign against promoted side, 3SC at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBU), Bauchi on March 08.
