Nigeria's under-23 national team have given themselves the advantage over two legs against Gabon after their 4-1 win in Libreville in the All Africa Games qualification for men's football.
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) striker Junior Ajayi scored twice while
Oghenekaro Etebo and Peter Onyekachi completed the rout just after Gabon got one back through Axel Meye at the Stade Augustin Monedan a Sibang.
Ajayi netted for Samson Siasia's team in the first minute of the match and Warri Wolves striker, Etebo, made it two-nil from 12 yards with two minutes to the break.
Two minutes into the second half, Ajayi struck again for his second of the match.
But Gabon gave themselves a lifeline when Axel Meye scored just mid-way into the second half.
Nigeria restored their three-goal lead at the death through Enyimba forward Peter Onyekachi.
The Nigerian under-23s play hosts to their Gabonese counterparts at the National Stadium in Abuja on March 7.
