Klay Ekeocha, the agent of Nigeria Under 17 international Kelechi Nwakali, has confirmed that Manchester City have made contact with him over the signing of the attacking midfielder.
But the Belgian-based agent has admitted that The Citizens face serious competition from other English Premier League powerhouses and clubs based in Spain for the 16-year-old’s signature.
“Kelechi is a very talented player, a lot of clubs are interested in him. I have been in touch with them,” Klay Ekeocha told SL10.ng.
“Manchester City are interested in him, and I have been speaking with them for some months. City are not the only team that want him especially after his performance at the CAF Under 17 Championship.
“I have been talking to another big team in England apart from Manchester City and clubs in Spain, but because of confidentiality agreement, I cannot disclose their identity.
