World best player, Aruna Quadri, is determined to propel his club,
GDSR Os Toledos, to success when the Portuguese Cup gets underway this
weekend.
The player who crashed out in the quarterfinal of the men’s singles of the International Table Tennis Federation Africa Championship held in Cairo, Egypt, told our correspondent that he had put the disappointment behind him and ready to help his team win the season’s opener.
Quadri who propelled the team to the League and Portuguese Super Cup titles last season said that he wanted to open the season with success in the Portuguese Cup.
“Portuguese Cup is starting this weekend and that is my focus now. All clubs in Portugal will slug it out, and it is going to be a tough competition. We are the defending champions and retaining the cup is our target,” he said.
