Amuneke's Flying Eagles crashes out of AYC 2017, suffers shock 4-3 defeat by 10-Man Sudan in Lagos

After so much positive anticipation from Nigeria football lovers, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria led by Coach Emmanuel Amuneke disappointed millions of Nigeria as they failed to qualify for the 2017 African Youth Championship hosted by Zambia which also means they wouldn't be participating at the 2017 World Youth Championship Cup to be held in South Korea
either.
The African defending champions, Nigeria were beaten by 10-Man Sudan 4-3 (5-5 aggregate) at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Saturday 23 July 2016. Despite having an advantage going into the match after beating the Sudanese 2-1 in Sudan 2 weeks ago, the Flying Eagles were severely punished by the visiting Young Falcons largely due to inexperience, poor goalkeeping and finishing. Although the Flying Eagles had the likes of Samuel Chukwueze, Funsho Bamgboye and Victor Osimhen (who shot to limelight at the last U-17 World Cup 2015) could not salvage anything for the lacklustre Eagles on the rainy day.
