Reviewing Mikel Obi's 10-year career in Chelsea: A FLOP OR A SUCCESS? Plus Five things You must Know

Chelsea FC on Thursday, June 30 posted a video on its website to celebrate Super Eagles midfielder, John Mike Obi’s ten years at the club.
Mikel Obi shone to limelight in 2005 when he represented Nigeria U-20 team at the
2015 World Youth Championship in Holland where he won the Silver Ball for the second-best player and Nigeria finished second.

Mikel joined Chelsea in the summer of 2006 from Lyn Oslo of Norway after a controversial transfer saga with Manchester United.
In September 2006, he made his Chelsea debut in a Champions League fixture against Levski Sofia

Five things You should know
1)    Mikel’s full name is John Michael Nchekwube Obinna. Nigeria Football Federation mistakenly submitted "Michael" as "Mikel" for the 2013 U-17 tournament in Finland. He decided to keep the new name, saying that it had a "special ring to it."
2)    On 12 August 2011, Mikel's father, Michael Obi, was the victim of a suspected kidnapping in Nigeria and was found alive on 22 August 2011, in the Nigerian city of Kano
3)    Mikel has made a total of 372 appearances and with only six goals for Chelsea (atleast better than Makélélé on an average as a holding midfielder); he has won Chelsea’s best Young player (2007 & 2008) winning a total of 11 major trophies so far in Blues colour.
4)    For Nigeria national team, Mikel has made a total of 75 goals scoring only four goals and winning the African Nations Cup in 2013.

5)    Mikel went ahead to engage her Russian girlfriend Olga Diyachenko (with whom they have beautiful twins together) despite unverified claims that he has a Nigerian girlfriend who was heavily pregnant for him.
