Relegation threatened NPFL club, Heartland FC of Owerri have appointed Goodfaith Etuemena as the new club chairman as was disclosed via the club's Twitter handle @HeartlandFC_ng. This is seen by many football pundits as a swift move in an attempt
save the club from being relegated from the Nigeria elite division football league.
Mr Goodfaith will now head the club's management as no other changes were made to the existing management team.
Meanwhile the club was fined by League Management Company for failing to control their fans who attacked FC IfeanyiUbah players and officials in their last home match in Owerri.
The club is currently placed in 18th position on the league table with 30 points from 27 matches played.
