News have emerged that Ex-Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo is said to come out of retirement to join a club in the Nigeria Professional Football League after he reaching an
agreement with the League Management Company.
According to highlights of the agreement, LMC said that Yobo will play the remaining 12 NPFL matches with a club of his choice under the NPFL Elite Players Scheme. The scheme was introduced by the LMC since 2014 season to inject Nigerian players with specified national team caps as part of strategies to rekindle greater following for the domestic league as well as attract sponsors to the clubs.
35-year-old Yobo who is also a senior Special Adviser on Sports to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, last played for Norwich City in the EPL before his retirement.
