Nigerian New Kanu 'Muazam' signs for Westerlo can exclusively reveal today that Flying Eagles forward Abdullahi Ibrahim Alhassan aka ‘Muazam’, who has been compared to legendary Nwankwo Kanu, has signed a three-year deal with Belgian club KVC Westerlo.
A top source informed that ‘Muazam’ impressed while on trials with the

ambitious Belgian club, which included being part of the team who thrashed the Myanmar national team 3-0 in a friendly on Tuesday.
“He has signed a three-year contract with Westerlo after he passed a medical and trials with them,” the source informed.
‘Muazam’ has widely been likened to a new, but quicker version of former Arsenal star Nwankwo Kanu. He is strong on the ball and knows his way to goal.
The Kano-born forward has been one of the most sought after players during the Golden Eaglets Class of 2013 even though he later did not feature for the team at the CAF U17 Championship in Morocco.
He was on the shopping list of several other clubs in England, Sweden and Croatia.
He later had extended trials at Kalmar in Sweden as well as HNK Rejika in Croatia.
It was at Rejika that he suffered an injury, but he recovered just in time for the African Youth Championship in Senegal, where he played a bit role as Nigeria won a record seventh title.
He is on the provisional squad for the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Westerlo, on the other hand, returned to the Belgian top flight after they won the second division title last season.
They are now playing off for a place in the UEFA Europa League.
Tosin Dosunmu and Moses Adams are among the Nigeria stars who have featured for Westerlo.
