Giwa FC striker Abubakar Ahmed lost
his older brother in one of the bomb blasts that rocked the northcentral
Nigerian city of Jos on Thursday
An
official of the Nigeria premier league club, Sammy Adesoji, told
AfricanFootball.com that the man lost his life in the bomb blast that
happened at the Bauchi Road motor park close to
University of Jos.
“One
of our players Abubakar Ahmed is bereaved, he lost his older brother in
a bomb blast in Bauchi Road Park on Thursday,” Adesoji told
AfricanFootball.com
There were two bomb blasts in Jos on
Thursday at Bauchi Road motor Park close to University of Jos and at
Bauchi/Gombe Park close to Semshak Hotel. Scores of people were killed.
It would be recalled that on
Christmas eve in 2010, another bomb blast at Angwa Rukuba caught up
ex-Plateau United midfielder Olayinka Olaniyi, who was badly injured and
later quit football altogether.
