Giwa striker loses brother in Jos bomb blast

Giwa FC striker Abubakar Ahmed lost his older brother in one of the bomb blasts that rocked the northcentral Nigerian city of Jos on Thursday

An official of the Nigeria premier league club, Sammy Adesoji, told AfricanFootball.com that the man lost his life in the bomb blast that happened at the Bauchi Road motor park close to
University of Jos.

“One of our players Abubakar Ahmed is bereaved, he lost his older brother in a bomb blast in Bauchi Road Park on Thursday,” Adesoji told AfricanFootball.com

There were two bomb blasts in Jos on Thursday at Bauchi Road motor Park close to University of Jos and at Bauchi/Gombe Park close to Semshak Hotel. Scores of people were killed.

It would be recalled that on Christmas eve in 2010, another bomb blast at Angwa Rukuba caught up ex-Plateau United midfielder Olayinka Olaniyi, who was badly injured and later quit football altogether.
